The Ondo State Security Network Agency, known as Amotekun, has suspended three operatives for allegedly violating the oath of allegiance and secrecy.
The suspended officers – Abu Taiwo, Akinsipe Victor, and Ekujumi Julius – have also been declared wanted as investigations continue.
Speaking at a press briefing on Monday, Adetunji Adeleye, the state commander of Amotekun, accused the suspended officers of acting in isolation to undermine the management and distract the agency from its core mandate of securing lives and property.
“As we speak, the three have been reprimanded and declared wanted. We are committed to due process in handling this matter, especially given the sensitive nature of our security environment,” Adeleye said.

He said the officers “appeared to be sponsored” and warned against dragging the corps into social media controversies.
Adeleye noted that Amotekun operates under strict rules, including the issuance of identity and warrant cards only to full government staff. He added that the suspended officers acted outside these regulations.
In the same briefing, Adeleye paraded four suspected criminals arrested by Amotekun in collaboration with civil defence and local vigilantes.

Among them is Ogungbemi Adebayo who confessed to being an informant for kidnappers operating around Ademekun power line at Ago-Dada camp.
Adebayo reportedly said he was “trained by Fulani men in the use of AK-47” and had been working with them for several months before his arrest.
Another suspect, Nasiru Suleiman, was accused of dismantling government-owned caterpillar machinery parked along the Akure-Ondo road.
Suleiman and his accomplices reportedly ravaged several machines, with some recovered parts displayed during the parade.

Also arrested were Saliu Nureni, charged with robbery and arson around NEPA market, and Ahmed Oladimeji, caught with stolen generator and alternator parts in Igoba, Akure.
Adeleye said there is significant reduction in criminal activities in Ondo in recent weeks and reassured residents that the state remains safe for business and socio-economic development.
