The Ondo command of the south-west security network, code-named Amotekun, have rescued nine of the 12 travellers abducted in the state.

The travellers, who were on their way to Lagos on Wednesday, were abducted by gunmen at Idoani-Ifira axis of Ondo state.

Speaking at a media briefing on Thursday, Adetunji Adeleye, Ondo commander of Amotekun, confirmed the rescue of the nine travellers.

According to NAN, he said the victims were rescued after Amotekun operatives responded to a distress call.
