Nicholas Ukachukwu
Nicholas Ukachukwu, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the November 8 election in Anambra, has pledged to prioritise security and industrialisation if elected.
Ukachukwu made the promise on Tuesday during the inauguration of the APC governorship campaign council at the party secretariat in Awka.
He said the state needs a shift from projects he described as “monumental wastes” to investments that directly impact the lives of residents.
The APC candidate criticised some structures built by the current administration, including the Fun City project, saying they do not address the state’s pressing needs.

Instead, he outlined a plan anchored on an agricultural chain revolution and the establishment of a power plant to propel industrial clusters across Anambra.
“In Anambra, it is either you are manufacturing, trading or farming. We will put security in check. We will put up a power plant to serve the people and propel an industrial cluster,” Ukachukwu said.
He also raised concerns over the health sector in the state, claiming that hospitals had deteriorated into what he called “glorified mortuaries”.

Responding to allegations about his finances, Ukachukwu said he was a man of means and dismissed speculations that he was indebted.
“I am worth billions and can’t owe billions as talkatives are wagging their tongues. Academic certificates do not make people what they think they are,” he added.
Ukachukwu dismissed his opponents as unworthy of serious attention, insisting that they only discuss him and his campaign because of his relevance in the race.
“We can’t discuss them because they are not worthy of our discussion. They are discussing us because we are worthy of their discussion, but when the chips are down, we shall know who is who,” he said.

The candidate expressed confidence that the APC would emerge victorious at the polls, citing President Bola Tinubu’s directive to secure the state for the party.
“President Bola Tinubu has charged us to get Anambra for APC,” Ukachukwu told party members.
