Anambra guber: APGA says Soludo prioritising governance over campaign

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) says Chukwuma Soludo, governor of Anambra, is prioritising governance over his re-election campaign.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Ejimofor Opara, APGA spokesperson, said embarking on campaign at the moment would distract the governor, who, he said is focused on governance.

“First, as a government, there are deadlines that Governor Soludo has set for himself and everyone on the solution team,” the statement reads.

“Thus, a campaign at this time would be more of a distraction, and residents will not accept excuses.

“Across the length and breadth of the state, Soludo is stamping indelible footprints that require consolidation. Nothing will veer him off this track.

“For the first time in the state’s known history, residents will be making a decision based on massive evidence of sterling performance, not hearsay.

“So, for now, Soludo is very busy and APGA encourages him to remain focused. Our vehicle is sound and the road ahead is clear.”

Early this month, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INE) published the final list of candidates for the Anambra governorship poll.

The electoral umpire said electioneering campaigns in public start from June 11 and end at midnight on November 6.

The governorship election in Anambra has been slated for November 8.
