The Anambra state police command says it has arrested two suspects allegedly involved in the kidnap and murder of a female bank manager after collecting a ransom of N14 million from her family.
A statement on Sunday by Tochukwu Ikenga, the command’s spokesperson, said the suspects were arrested on May 28.
Ikenga said the victim’s lifeless body was discovered along Nnobi road on January 13, 2025, with her eyes tied, after the abductors had already received the ransom.
“Following the assurance of the Anambra State Police Command to follow up cases until suspects are apprehended to prevent further criminal activities in the State, two suspects were arrested on 28th May 2025,” he said.

Ikenga identified the suspects as Monday Egbe and Kenneth Nnoga, saying they were tracked to a hideout in a neighbouring state.
“The operatives, while on diligent investigations, trailed two of the suspects… to their criminal hideout in a neighbouring State,” he added.
Ikenga noted that the suspects are currently undergoing interrogation to uncover further details about the criminal gang’s operations and to enable the arrest of other accomplices.
