Ministerial nominee hit with 10 petitions

The senate on Tuesday received 10 petitions against President Muhammadu Buhari’s nomination of Anthony Anwuka as a minister.

Athan Achonu, a senator representing Imo north, brought the petitions on the floor of the upper‎ chamber.

Anwuka is the fourth nominee whose nomination has been challenged‎ through a petition.

Chibuike Amaechi, Amina Mohammed and Aisha Abubakar are others whose nominations have been challenged through petitions.

While Amina Mohammed has been cleared and confirmed minister, Abubakar and Amaechi are yet to be cleared for screening.
