A political support group known as the APC Advocacy and Appeasement Group has described the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a gathering of recycled political failures intent on hijacking the voice of the Nigerian people.
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Friday, Gambo Bala Iggi, convener of the group, said the ADC coalition is made up of discredited politicians who have been rejected by their people and now seek to reclaim relevance through a new platform.
“The rise in fuel prices, transportation fares, youth unemployment, inflation of essential commodities, infrastructural stagnation, and economic pain are all direct consequences of years of misrule between 2003 and 2007,” Iggi said.
He noted that those now pushing the ADC agenda were the key actors in those years, serving as governors, senators, ministers, and top party stakeholders within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“These people are not strangers. They shamelessly betrayed the trust Nigerians gave them,” he said.
“They looted local government joint accounts under the guise of coordination and oversaw systemic abuses like institutionalised nepotism, impunity, imposition, and the subversion of internal party democracy.”
He said only “mischievous and desperate wannabes” would fail to acknowledge the achievements of President Bola Tinubu.

Iggi listed Tinubu’s efforts, including LG autonomy, the NELFUND student loan scheme, civil service reforms, infrastructural restructuring, and economic stabilisation policies.
He added that the Tinubu administration is working to restructure the economy and resolve contradictions created by “decades of mismanagement”.
Iggi also revealed that his group has developed a strategy document titled presidential taskforce on poverty, indiscipline and indisposed public awareness (PTF-PIIPA), designed to assist the president in securing re-election.
According to him, the proposal outlines strategies that can attract over 20 million votes and break any opposition margin.

However, he expressed frustration over the group’s inability to deliver the proposal to the president.
“Your excellency, we suspect growing internal conspiracy against your second term, sir,” he said.
“In the course of trying to reach you, we faced uncomfortable frustration from your system protocol, which failed to respond to our letter and the proposal sent directly to your office and through the SGF, COS, some ministers and many of your appointed aides since April 2024.”
Iggi urged the president to review the implementation approach of the renewed hope agenda to ensure that the programme reaches more Nigerians, particularly those at the grassroots.

He said this will not only improve its impact but also strengthen Tinubu’s popularity ahead of the 2027 general election.
