Wale Ahmed, a member of the house of representatives, says President Bola Tinubu has performed well enough to deserve re-election in 2027.

Speaking during a stakeholders meeting on Friday in Lagos, the lawmaker who represents Agege federal constituency said Tinubu initiated several reforms that previous administrations lacked the courage to implement.

Ahmed, a two-time commissioner and former secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos, said the country is witnessing a rise in foreign direct investments, which shows investor confidence in the country.

“All his opponents should rest and allow Tinubu to have a second term,” he said.

“Late President Muhammadu Buhari from the north served two terms, so Tinubu should also have his second term.

“By God’s grace, his second term is assured. I will mobilise my constituents to ensure Tinubu is returned for another year.

“The people in the opposition are not talking about the financial engineering of the Tinubu administration. We have not got there [where we want to be], but Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is working in the right direction.

“The construction of the Lagos /Calabar expressway will bring economic benefits. The Sokoto/Badagry expressway has been in the pipeline for over 40 years. I heard about the project for the first time in 1985 when I was going to the Usman Dan Fodio University in Sokoto as a medical student.

“No president has been courageous to attempt it. The construction would open up many towns and villages along that corridor.”

Ahmed said Tinubu’s loan scheme has enabled indigent students to access tertiary education.

The lawmaker said he would mobilise his constituents to vote for Tinubu in 2027.
