It held on March 6, 2019, a federal high court in Jalingo, Taraba capital, disqualified Abubakar Danladi, who challenged Ishaku in the election.

The election tribunal had earlier upheld the victory of Ishaku, who contested under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
