Cable Newspaper Journalism Foundation (CNJF), also known as Cable Foundation, is hiring a social media content creator to amplify its investigative journalism, fact-checking, and advocacy across digital platforms.
The foundation, a not-for-profit organisation that uses the tools of journalism to advance accountability, transparency and good governance, said the role is open to candidates based in Lagos, with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement.
Role overview: The role involves turning complex research and reporting into content that informs, engages and inspires diverse audiences. It is a contract-based role, with initial engagement terms to be discussed with shortlisted candidates.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will create compelling graphics, short videos and copy for TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook and X (Twitter). They will also manage content calendars, posting schedules, and day-to-day audience engagement; adapt complex journalistic outputs into social-friendly formats such as carousels, reels, explainers and infographics; and track analytics while recommending strategies for audience growth and retention.
Requirements: Applicants must have one to three years of proven experience in social media management and content creation. Strong mobile video creation and editing skills using tools such as CapCut, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Edits by instagram or equivalent are required. Excellent writing and storytelling skills in English are essential, while fluency in Pidgin or other local languages will be an advantage. Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to work under tight deadlines and package serious topics in creative and responsible ways. A passion for journalism, advocacy or social impact communication is considered a plus.
