Argentina will face Chile in Saturday’s Copa America final after beating Paraguay 6-1 in the semi-final.

Angel di Maria scored twice and Marcos Rojo, Javier Pastore, Sergio Aguero and Gonzalo Higuain also found the net in a brilliant display masterminded by captain Lionel Messi.

Argentina had scored only four goals in their four previous games but were at their goal scoring best against the conquerors of Brazil.

Rojo put them ahead from Messi’s free-kick and Pastore made it 2-0 with a low shot.

Lucas Barrios pulled one back from 20 yards, but Di Maria then scored twice, slotting in from Pastore’s pass and then converting a rebound.

Aguero headed in a fifth and Higuain netted a sixth.

It was an impressive victory for La Albiceleste who moved into the Copa America final for the third time in four competitions and will play Chile in Santiago.

They are now the clear favourite to win their first title since 1993.
