Arik resumes flight operations to Gambia after Ebola

Arik Airline will resume flight operations to Banjul, The Gambia, on October 1 after its suspension due to Ebola virus disease outbreak.

Mr Chris Ndulue, Managing Director, told journalists on Monday at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, that the security and safety of air passengers and crew was a top priority to the airline.

He noted that the airline would continue to work with both local and international health authorities to safeguard the health and well-being of its passengers.
According to him, Arik would operate three weekly flights from both Lagos and Abuja to Banjul via Accra, Ghana, on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

“Outbound flight departs Lagos at 5:00 p.m. (Nigeria local time), arrive Accra at 5:00 p.m. (Ghana local time) and leaves Accra for Banjul at 8:00 p.m. (Ghana local time).

“From Abuja, the outbound flight departs at 6:10 p.m. (Nigerian local time), arrive Accra at 7:00 p.m. (Ghana local time) and leaves for Banjul at 8:00 p.m. (Ghana time),” Ndukue said.

He added that with the new schedule, the airline would be allowing the Banjul route to sell three market segments on one operated flight.
