The Nigerian army has repelled an attempted attack by terrorists in Monguno, a town in Borno state.
Citing sources, Zagazola Makama, a counter insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, reported that the attempted infiltration happened around 2:55am on Sunday morning.
The report said the terrorists sought to pass through the Charlie 15 axis into Monguno but were fought off by troops of Sector 3, Operation Hadin Kai.
According to the sources, the troops observed blood stains along the withdrawal route of the fleeing terrorists, suggesting that some of them may have sustained injuries.

No casualty was reported from the army, and there was no further contact with the terrorists after they retreated.
Monguno is both a town and an LGA in Borno.

It is known for being a conflict-affected area, particularly impacted by the Boko Haram insurgency.
Troops, including the Multinational Joint Task Force (MJTF) which groups soldiers from three Lake Chad countries: Nigeria, Chad, Cameroon, and Benin, are consistently stationed in the town to ward off insurgents.
