Acting Army spokesman says troops killed some Boko Haram militants

The Nigeria army says it has sent 12 of its officers, including six generals to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for investigation.
A statement issued by Sani Usman, army spokesman, said that the officers would be tried by a military court-martial if found culpable at the end of the commission’s investigation.
“The Nigerian army wishes to inform the public that 12 army officers have been sent to the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), for investigation,” the statement said.
“This comprised three serving major-generals, and one retired, three brigadier-generals, four colonels and one lieutenant colonel. However, it should be noted that at the end of the commission’s investigations, those found culpable will be tried by a military court martial.”
About 17 top military officers, including Alex Badeh, former chief of defence staff, are being investigated by the EFCC for alleged complicity in the armsgate.
