The Nigerian Army says it has dislodged insurgents from various hideouts in the north-east, north-west zones of the country, and in certain areas of Niger state.

Kevin Aligbe, commander, Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) of the army in Niger state, said this on Wednesday at the 2023 West African Social Activities (WASA) in Minna, the state capital.

Aligbe added that the war against insurgency has progressed steadily and effectively in different parts of the country.

“These achievements and successes have been widely recognised by the federal government and well-meaning Nigerians and even the international community,” NAN quoted Aligbe as saying.

He said TRADOC and 31 Brigade have continued to provide troops to the ongoing operation HADIN KAI in the north-east and HADARIN DAJI in the north-west.

He added that despite these achievements, there were still pockets of insecurity in the country, especially in Niger state, as terrorists have penetrated parts of the state to carry out cruel acts.

Aligbe urged military personnel, family members and members of the public to be more security conscious in order to hinder nefarious plans of the criminals.

He appreciated Taoreed Lagbaja, the chief of army staff (COAS), for his unwavering financial support and provision of materials to the cantonment that enabled it accomplish the feat.

Jamiu Jimoh, chief of TRADOC, praised the troops for performing excellently and pledged the troops’ continuous efforts in the fight against insurgency.

Hamidu Bobbo, commander, 31 artillery brigade, said the success was due to consistent training of personnel and thanked the COAS for his continuous support.
