Asisat: FA Cup win justifies my move to Arsenal
Asisat Oshoala says the victory of Arsenal Ladies in the English Women’s FA Cup has justified her transfer from Liverpool.
Arsenal Ladies defeated Chelsea Ladies 1-0 at the Wembley Stadium on Saturday to lift the FA Cup, the 14th in the club’s history.
An excited Oshoala told TheCable: “Alhamdulilahi for His mercy and blessings. I feel very excited for being part of this team to win the English Women’s FA Cup.
The Super Falcons striker recalled paying to watch English football at viewing centres.
“I have spent money to watch English games on several occasions but here I am today winning the FA Cup,” she said.
“Wow! I am so excited. All the money I paid at various game centers didn’t go to waste. Sure.”
Her next target is to also excel in Europe.
“I am looking forward to the European Cup games and possibly winning it too. But it’s one after the other,” she said.
She said moving from Liverpool to Arsenal in March “was well worth it”.
“Like I said Arsenal is a bigger club. And at least I have added something to my profile after leaving Liverpool Ladies,” she said.
