Three Nigerian students excel at global competition
The Atiku Abubakar Foundation has awarded scholarships to three Nigerian students who clinched top honours at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Round competition in London, United Kingdom.
Nafisa Aminu, Rukayya Fema, and Hadiza Kalli represented the Nigerian contingent at this year’s edition of the global competition.
Seventeen-year-old Aminu was named the overall best in English Language skills, 15-year-old Fema topped the chart in debate, while Kalli clinched the outstanding talent award and a gold medal.
In a letter to the students, Ahmadu Shehu, acting secretary of the foundation, said the scholarships will cover the rest of their secondary education and their university studies at any institution of their choice.

“The Atiku Abubakar Foundation is delighted to learn of your outstanding performance at the TeenEagle Global Finals, where you emerged as global winners in various categories of the competition,” the letter reads.
“Your remarkable success is a testament not only to your academic excellence but also to the boundless potential of all children to achieve their dreams, regardless of gender, social class, or background.
“In recognition of this achievement, the AAF is pleased to offer you a fully-funded scholarship covering the remainder of your secondary education and your university studies at any institution of your choice.

“As the platform that coordinates the philanthropic activities of H.E. Atiku Abubakar, GCON, renowned for his commitment to quality education in Nigeria, the Foundation reaffirms its dedication to supporting education, particularly for girls and other vulnerable groups.”
On Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu congratulated the students, describing their achievements as a testament to the brilliance and potential of Nigerian youths.
