Atiku Abubakar, a former vice-president and Rabiu Kwankwaso, the governor of Kano state, are not in support of the choice of Lagos as venue for the APC presidential primary scheduled for December 8.
In a document signed by both aspirants and obtained by NAN in Abuja on Tuesday, the presidential aspirants said the relocation of the primary was not convenient.
“Our party has paid for the Eagle Square for December 7, 8, 10 and 11,” the document read.
“This will enable our party to maximally harvest the fallout of PDP national assembly primary since we have nothing to harvest from the PDP presidential primary as they have only one candidate.
“The proposed venue of Lagos is not convenient for all; we therefore advise that our party reverts to Abuja as the venue.”
Unconfirmed reports had it that there were disagreements on the choice of venue between Abuja and Lagos, and the party even recently chose Benin as a neutral ground for the election.
Atiku; Muhammadu Buhari, former head of state; Sam Nda Isaiah, the publisher of Leadership newspaper; Richas Okorocha, governor of Imo state; and Kwakwanso are the aspirants.
