Baleri, Adamawa sport director, dies

The Adamawa government has announced the death of Umar Baleri, the state’s director of sports.
Joy Diamond, information officer of the State Sports Council, disclosed this in Yola on Monday.
Diamond said Baleri, 56, died at the Federal Medical Centre, Yola, on Sunday. The deceased was said to have suffered an illness.
She said Baleri was appointed director on September 18, 2009. He was survived by three wives and seven children.

The information officer said the remains of the late director had since been buried.
