Nasir Idris, governor of Kebbi, says he will not hesitate to sign the death warrant of anyone convicted as an informant to bandits terrorising the state.

Idris spoke on Saturday during a condolence visit to Tudun Bichi village in Danko-Wasagu LGA over the incessant bandits’ attacks in the community.

The governor said necessary support would be given to security agencies to combat banditry in the state.

“The activities of informants defied all norms and religious doctrines. Just for a pittance, some miscreants will provide valuable information to bandits to perpetrate mayhem against their own people,” NAN quoted Idris as saying.

“I will never condone or be lenient with such unscrupulous persons.

“Let it be known to the informants that whoever is convicted for volunteering information to bandits leading to the killing of innocent souls, I will sign his death warrant instantaneously.”

He promised to rehabilitate the three-kilometre road which became inaccessible due to the collapsed bridge connecting Tundun Bichi to Wasagu LGA.

Muhammad Mika’ilu, the village head of Tudun Bichi, appreciated the governor for his visit and solicited the deployment of more security personnel to the community.
