Suspected bandits have abducted four farmers in Tudun Moriki village, located in Zurmi LGA of Zamfara state.
According to Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, the incident occurred around midday on Thursday while the victims were working on their farms.
Makama said the armed men stormed the farmlands at approximately 12 pm and forcibly took the farmers to an unknown location.
The publication said in response to the abduction, security forces quickly mobilised to the scene.

Makama added that a rescue operation was launched immediately, noting that efforts are ongoing to track down the assailants and secure the safe release of the abducted farmers.
On May 10, gunmen attacked Government Day Secondary School in Tsafe LGA of Zamfara state.
Yazid Abubakar, Zamfara police spokesperson, said the incident left one person dead while three others were kidnapped.

“It has been confirmed that the incident happened last night around 10 p.m. The school is Government Day Secondary School, so no students were present,” Abubakar said.
