Mohammed Abubakar, governor of Bauchi state, has nominated Audu Katagum, his chief of staff, to serve as his deputy.
Umar Sade, the state commissioner for information, disclosed this to NAN on Saturday.
Katagum is replacing Nuhu Gidado who resigned after saying he had lost interest in the job.
“The governor nominated Audu Sule Katagum as the deputy governor after due consultation with stakeholders in the state,” the commissioner said.
Lamara Chinade, information officer of Bauchi state house of assembly, also told NAN that Katagum’s name has been submitted to the house for confirmation.
“The name was submitted last week and the house may sit next week to confirm his nomination,” he was quoted as saying.
