Benue polytechnic sacks deputy rector Doris Iorchir for ‘insubordination’

The governing council of Federal Polytechnic, Wannue in Tarka LGA of Benue has dismissed the deputy rector of the institution over alleged insubordination.

Until now, the deputy rector at the institution was Doris Iorchir.

NAN reports that Muhammed Ndas, the registrar and secretary to council, signed the dismissal letter dated August 18.

The letter, made available to the press on Tuesday, said the council took the decision during its emergency meeting held on Monday.

The council ordered Iorchir to hand over all official property in her possession with immediate effect.

The letter further stated that the council deliberated on the report of the management disciplinary committee as it affected the deputy rector.

It accused the deputy rector of insubordination to the constituted authority, arrogance to the rector, use of foul language, and refusal to appear before the management disciplinary committee.

It also accused the deputy of unauthorised disclosure of official information and refusal to provide some vital documents from a former employer after two years of probationary period.

“The Council, based on the recommendations of the Management Disciplinary Committee and, in line with public service rules, approved your dismissal with effect from 18th Aug. 2025,” the letter reads in part.

“Consequently, you are to hand over, all the institution’s property, identity card inclusive, to the Chief Security Office.”
