Stranded passengers walking out of Local airport in Lagos after visually impaired persons blocked roads leading to the airport
Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Ltd., the operators of Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2), has apologised to passengers for the inconveniences and flight schedule disruptions earlier today.
Earlier, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) issued a travel advisory for passengers travelling to and from MMA in Lagos.
In a statement on Monday, Ajoke Yinka-Olawuyi, the head of corporate communications at Bi-Courtney, said the gridlock was caused by a protest by Farmcraft Centre for the Blind at the airport.
“While we want to re-assure you that MMA2 remains open and all airport operations continue as usual, we recognise that any disruption to your travel plans causes significant inconvenience and frustration,” Yinka-Olawuyi said.

The spokesperson said the organisation is committed to resolving the matter as quickly and safely as possible.
“We thank you for your patience, understanding and cooperation during this challenging time,” she said.

Yinka-Olawuyi assured that the organisation would continue to provide updates, advising the flying public to monitor real-time updates on flight schedules and airport operations through its official channels.
In a X post, FAAN said Yusuf Sununu, the state minister of humanitarian affairs and poverty reduction, has met with the representative of the Farmcraft Centre for the Blind.
The authority added that following the dialogue, the blockade has been lifted and normalcy has been restored.
