Popular Nigerian skit-maker Mr. Macaroni and famous actress Bimbo Ademoye were featured in the latest Nigerian Nollywood movie — Hammer.

The comedy-skit maker was featured alongside actors and actresses like Bimbo Ademoye, Ben Touitou, Dr. Linda Iheme, Etinosa Idemudia, Deyemi Ademola, Chris Iheuwa, Lucy Edet, and James Jibuna amongst others in a new Nollywood Movie titled HAMMER.

Hammer is a story centred on two Nigerian graduates on the quest to make ends meet. The story captures the socio-economic labyrinth facing the Nigerian workforce where aside from unemployment which is on the increase, there is also the issue of underemployment. Where graduates who are professionals find themselves in industries that are clearly not their specialities and are exposed to struggle financially, emotionally and mentally.

While the character of Pablo played by Mr. Macaroni gave in to the “if you cannot beat them, join them” mantra, the character Tosin played by Bimbo Ademoye constantly faces an internal struggle of choosing between right and wrong.

These two characters comically delivered their roles, perfectly. In the end, we saw how lines eventually fell in good places for Tosin. As she did not only travel abroad to study legally, she also won a fully-funded scholarship. This goes a long way to confirm that success in life does not have shortcuts. It is a step-by-step journey and the value of information one has determines to a great extent the rate at which one succeeds. Indeed, knowledge is power.

Mr. Macaroni, when interviewed about the movie at the just concluded movie premiere, stated that “Hammer is a movie that dissects the nature and adventure of young people in the country as they try to survive”. He concluded that there are many opportunities for young graduates and professionals out there if only they can access the right information. And that right information is what Hammer-The-Movie brings to the public.

Dr Linda Iheme who is also the executive producer of Hammer in an interview with Channels TV at the event of the movie premiere described Hammer as the next big thing hitting the Nigerian entertainment industry in 2022. “Hammer the movie is bringing a different story from what you used to see, it’s the next big thing coming, look out for it,” she said.
