Ahmedu Augustine Obiabo, a Nigerian rapper and songwriter popularly known as Blackface, has been off the music scene for a while.
The former Plantashun Boyz group member recently released a video titled Killah to voice his grievances.
In the video, Obiabo accused Wizkid, a Nigerian hip hop artiste, of stealing his works.
Here are some of the lyrics:
“Boy Wizkid try steal me Melody
But them copycat na gat me energy
Me burn them and send them to the cemetery
Tell dem copycats them playing with fire
Tell dem be original or them better retire
My fellas no go hesitate to fire
Run dem down..marsh up dem empire”
Since the separation of the Plantashun Boyz group, the artiste has released six albums.
The group, which also had Innocent Idibia (Tuface) and Chibuzor Orji (Faze), split in 2004 after releasing two albums and briefly halted the separation in 2007 to release just one more album.
In 2010, Obiabo made comments about Wizkid and former EME label mate Banky W stealing his work, I like the Way from his ‘Dancehall Bizness’ album.
Meanwhile, Wizkid was accused of stealing the work of fellow musician Dammy Krane on the latter’s Twitter page.
Both musicians nearly got physical in a clash at Quilox club few days ago.
