Some X users compared the penalty to the N70,000 national minimum wage.
In February 2024, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) set a speed limit of 80 kilometre per hour for motorists plying the bridge.
In February 2025, the federal government said surveillance cameras have been installed on the bridge to enforce speed regulations.
The Lagos state government had also announced fines of N50,000 for driving above the speed limit and N20,000 for running red lights.

I think Lagosian need to demand for higher minimum wage. A speed fine should not be 80% of the minimum wage.

80km/h speed limit on 3rd mainland is an obvious cash grab from LASG. Any Federal highway is supposed to be 100km/h! Wish people could gather and challenge this https://t.co/Jncvld9n3M

Did they send you photographic evidence of road markings that can determine your speed? For example, 2 photographs taken by the machine in quick succession the distance travelled by your car over the road markings? If not, I can fight this ticket for you, only my fee is N150,000…

Not on the third mainland bridge yet. The camera is on your way to the island but not yet activated. You probably got booked in Mobolaji bank Anthony or Alapeere then Nurudeen Onipopo. Those are the active camera for now.
I have tested the third Mai land bridge camera severally
