Bode Ayeku, former president of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN), has been appointed to head the Corporate Secretaries International Association (CSIA) for 2022.

Taiwo Olusesi, ICSAN registrar, announced this in a statement on Wednesday.

CSIA is an international federation of professional bodies which promotes best practices in corporate governance, compliance and secretarial advisory services.

Olusesi said the global body also elected Nagendra Rao as vice-president, Siew Chuan Chua as secretary, and Karyn Southgate as treasurer for next year.

“He is a member of the Governing Council of the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA) and Chairman of the Committee of Legal Advisers and Company Secretaries of NECA,” Olusesi said.

“ICSAN is a professional body dedicated to excellence in corporate governance and public administration and a member of CSIA.”

Last month, ICSAN appointed Taiwo Owokalade as its 28th president following the completion of Bode Ayeku’s tenure as the institute’s leader, and he (Ayeku) currently serves as CSIA vice-president.

CSIA was officially launched at the World Bank headquarters in Paris on March 23, 2010, under the auspices of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

In February 2017, the international institution was incorporated as a company limited by guarantee in Hong Kong.
