Tokunbo Abiru, senator representing Lagos east district, has thrown his weight behind President Bola Tinubu’s second term bid.
Speaking at the Lagos state All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders forum, which held on Tuesday, Abiru described Tinubu’s brand of leadership as “courageous, visionary, and transformative”.
He said reforms like removal of subsidy on petrol, unification of the foreign exchange market, and strategic resource allocation to critical sectors, have restored economic stability and fiscal discipline.
“Two years ago, Nigerians entrusted him with leadership during a difficult period marked by economic distress and uncertainty. President Tinubu chose the path of reform, restructuring, and renewal,” Abiru said.

He said the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFund) has benefitted over 510,000 students, and CrediCorp loans worth N30 billion have been disbursed to 150,000 Nigerians.
Abiru also praised the collaboration between the national assembly and the executive, pointing to recent landmark laws such as the Nigerian Insurance Industry Reform Act (NIIRA) 2025, Nigerian Tax Reform Acts 2025, Student Loan Act, Electricity Act Amendment, Data Protection Act, and Police Reform Bill.
He said these legislative measures underpin the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda by providing legal and institutional frameworks for reform.

“These legislative interventions are the backbone of the President’s reforms, providing legal and institutional stability,” he added.
“On behalf of the good people of Lagos East Senatorial District and in concert with the collective will of our great party, I proudly and unequivocally endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election in 2027.”
