Bookcraft Limited, publisher of “From Frying Pan to Fire”, a book written by Olusegun Adeniyi, has asked Konga, an online store, to take down pirated copies of the book selling on its platform.

In a letter to the Konga team, Bookcraft said it was shocked copies of the book were being sold and made available on Konga by some stores which were neither authorised by the author nor the publisher.

“We are indeed, quite surprised that given our long-term relationship, your staff could not tell the difference between the genuine article and the fake,” the letter read.

“We are hereby notifying you that we have not authorised the underlisted stores to market or distribute this book, or any of our other titles, on our behalf.

“For your information, the following are the criminal enterprises posing as genuine bookstores:

1. Seer Bookstore
2. Supremacy Stores
3. Reserved Stores
4. The Book Stores

“We are hereby demanding that the said work being sold and listed for sale by these unauthorised stores should not only be immediately taken down from your portal; but that these stores should in fact, be blacklisted.”

The publisher listed itself and Mosuro The Booksellers Limited as the authorised vendors.

Bookcraft threatened to take legal action if Konga fails to act.

Earlier, the publisher had also threatened to sue Jumia, another online store, over pirated copies of Adeniyi’s book.
