Suspected hoodlums have burnt down the Dutse Makaranta police station in the Kubwa area of the nation’s capital.

The station was torched after policemen clashed with suspected thugs in the area where Anthony Onome, an #EndSARS protester, was stabbed on Saturday.

Onome later died at the National Hospital, Abuja.

The mob was said to have set the station on fire after a policeman reportedly opened fire while trying to disperse the crowd that converged outside the station.

A bullet reportedly hit one of the persons at the scene, resulting in pandemonium.

The victim was said to have died on the spot.

At least, five police stations were burnt down across the country on Tuesday alone.

In Ibadan, Oyo state capital, aggrieved youth set Ojoo police station on fire after a clash between protesters and security operatives.

In Lagos, Layeni police station in Ajeromi Ifelodun local council development area (LCDA), Amukoko police station and Orile Iganmu police station were torched.

Mohammed Adamu, inspector-general of police, has since deployed anti-riot mobile policemen across the country to check the wave of violence.
