Akinwunmi Ambode, governor of Lagos state, has sacked three of his commissioners.

Tunji Bello, secretary to the state government, announced this in a statement issued on Thursday.

The affected cabinet members are Adebimpe Akinsola (pictured, ministry of tourism, arts and culture), Femi Odubiyi (ministry of science and technology) and Anifowoshe Abiola (ministry of physical planning and urban development).

They were replaced while new commissioners were appointed, among them is Olayinka Oladunjoye who served as commissioner of education under Babatunde Fashola, former governor of the state.

Oladunjoye is the new commissioner of commerce and industry.

The other new commissioners are Hakeem Fahm (science and technology), Ladi Lawanson (transportation); Segun Banjo (economic planning and budget), and Hakeem Sulaiman (communities and communications).

The statement added that there were major deployments.

Steve Ayorinde, former commissioner of information and strategy, has been moved to the ministry of tourism, arts and culture, while Kehinde Bamigbetan who was in charge of communities and communication, took over from Ayorinde.

Rotimi Ogunleye was sent to physical planning and urban development from commerce and industry, while Babatunde Durosinmi Etti was moved from ministry of wealth creation to ministry of the environment.

Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuf from uouth and social development to wealth creation; Agboola Dabiri from central business district to youth and social development.

Others are Samuel Adejare from environment to waterfront infrastructure development; Ade Akinsanya from waterfront infrastructure development to works and infrastructure.

“The new commissioners are expected to be cleared by the state house of assembly while the other redeployment and postings take immediate effect,” the statement read.

Bello said the new appointments and redeployments were intended to “create a new vigour and vitality for service delivery”.
