Asari-Dokubo backs down, promises to ‘support any government in power’

16:31 2015

Mujaheed Asari-Dokubo, an ex-militant who previously threatened to unleash violence on the country if President Goodluck Jonathan lost the presidential election, has promised to support any government in power, even if it is not Jonathan’s

A big supporter of Jonathan, Asari-Dokubo used all means at his disposal to campaign for the re-election of the president.

But moments after it became clear that Muhammadu Buhari had won the election, the warlord said he was a “friend to any government in power”.

“I’m not a creation of Jonathan,” he wrote on Twitter.

His action is good for this country because the nation need peace after the election. I pray that there will not be any trouble with the Niger Delta region again.
