Hillary Clinton, the Democratic candidate, has called Donald Trump to concede the presidential election.

Trump confirmed in his victory speech that “Secretary Clinton” called to “congratulate us”.

He had already crossed the 270 electoral votes mark, even though several results were still outstanding.

CNN reports that Clinton is not likely to make a public speech until Wednesday despite calling her Republican opponent concede.

Trump promised to re-unite America, build infrastructure, double the country’s growth and make America great again.

He assured the rest of the world that even though he would focus on America, he would work with them.

“Every single American will have the opportunity to realize his or her fullest potential. We will begin the urgent task of rebuilding our nation and rekindling the American Dream. Tremendous potential,” he said.

“Ours was not a campaign but rather a great and incredible movement. The forgotten men and women of our country will be forgotten no longer.

“We will embark on a project of national growth and renewal. We have a great economic plan. We will double our growth and have the strongest economy anywhere in the world.

“America will no longer settle for anything less than the best. We’re going to dream of things for our country. We will seek common ground, not hostility; partnership, not conflict.”

“It is time for us to come together as one united people….I will be President for all Americans”.
