Agbaje beats Koro to Lagos PDP gov ticket

Jimi Agbaje, candidate of the Democratic Peoples Alliance (DPA) at the 2007 governorship election, has won the governorship ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

At the primary election held at Yard 158, Kudirat Abiola Way, Oregun, Agbaje polled 432 votes to consign Musiliu Obanikoro, who had 346 votes, to second place.

Deji Doherty placed third with 21 votes.

He will now confront APC’s Akinwunmi Ambode on February 21 election in Nigeria’s most economically strategic state.

“My first assignment is to get my co-aspirants on board,” a victorious Agbaje said afterwards.

“Come 2015, I am taking over Lagos.”
