President Goodluck Jonathan has called to congratulate Muhammadu Buhari on his victory in the 2015 presidential election.
Minister of aviation, Osita Chidoka, revealed this through his Twitter handle, @Bennosy.
TheCable understands that Buhari, who flew the flag of the All Progressives Congress (APC), received the phone call from Jonathan, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Tuesday at 5:15pm as the results were being announced.
Both candidates had signed the “Abuja Accord” to prevent post-election rancour.
In 2011, over 800 persons were killed in post-election violence in the north.
Jonathan will make a national broadcast after meeting with senior PDP figures, Chidoka said.
