There has been a twist in the tale as most of the girls seen in the latest Boko Haram video are now said not to be among the ones kidnapped from Chibok, Borno State
A CNN report on Tuesday afternoon said when the parents of the missing girls looked at the pictures from the video, they could only identify a few of them as their daughters.
This may be a confirmation of the suspicion that abductions have been going on for a long time without the Nigerian authorities knowing or admitting.
Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau had said in a video on Monday he would only release the girls if the federal government agreed to free the detained members of the sect.

Curiously, Shekau did not specifically identify the girls in the second video as those kidnapped from Chibok, Borno State.
Some girls were kidnapped from Federal Government College, Buni Yade, Yobe State, early in the year by Boko Haram militants who killed 59 male students and set them on fire.
Less than two weeks ago, eight girls aged between 12 and 15 were also seized from Warabe, Borno State, in the midst of the search for the Chibok girls.

The latest revelation appears to confirm that hundreds of girls have been in Boko Haram captivity outside the 276 seized from Chibok on April14/15.
