Suspected hoodlums have set ablaze the head office of The Nation newspaper at Matori in Lagos.

Some vehicles inside the building located on Fatai Atere Way were also torched.

The suspects were said to have overpowered some policemen who were deployed to ward off any attack.

The development comes hours after the head office of Television Continental (TVC) was torched.

There has been widespread violence across Lagos this week.

Earlier on Wednesday, the palace of the Oba of Lagos was raided but soldiers managed to evacuate him to safety.

However, suspected hoodlums ransacked the palace and took away items, including his staff of office.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos, imposed a 24-hour curfew on Tuesday but the violence has continued.
