Nigeria Professional Premier League side Dolphins have placed a one million dollar price tag on top scorer Emem Eduok.

Though Eduok lost the top scorer award to Enyimba’s Mfon Udoh who scored 23 goals, the striker with a record-breaking six goals in a single game also netted the first goal at the new Akwa Ibom Stadium in Uyo for the home-based Super Eagles against Ghana, and his value is not lost on his team who won’t let go of him on the cheap according to general manager, Joe Johnson.

“There is a price tag on Emem and even the friendly match against Ghana last week increased his chances of playing outside the country,” Johnson told africanfootball.com.

“I’m not too sure he has a match right now and if we can get those who are very serious, then one million dollars won’t be a bad idea.”

Eduok scored 20 league goals and 24 in all competitions this season, and Johnson feels the transfer figure is a realistic valuation for their striker.

“It’s not an easy feat doing what he did. If you watch him play, you will see that the drive is there, the commitment is there and he is one player who is interested in scoring goals,” he said.

The former Flying Eagles striker joined Dolphins from Akwa United in 2010/11 season and won the league title in his first season with the club.
