President Muhammadu Buhari will depart Nigeria for Netherlands on Sunday.
The president is expected to participate in activities to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC) at The Hague.
Buhari will deliver a keynote address during the solemn hearing to commemorate the anniversary at courtroom 1 of the ICC’s headquarters.
A statement said Buhari, who was recently named an anti-corruption champion of the African Union, will use the global platform to reaffirm Nigeria’s support to the fundamental values of the Rome Statute and to the ideals of the ICC.
The president will also have a bilateral meeting with Fatou Bensouda, ICC prosecutor, and attend a dinner hosted by Chile Eboe-Osuji, president of the ICC.
Buhari will meet Mark Rutte, prime minister of the Netherlands, to discuss bilateral issues.
The president and his delegation will have roundtable with some Dutch Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of companies based in Nigeria with a view to urging them to expand their investments, especially in agriculture and oil and gas.
The countries are expected to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on bilateral consultations.
Simon Lalong, governor Plateau; Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, governor of Ondo; Geoffrey Onyeama, minister of foreign affairs; Abubakar Malami, attorney-general of the federation (AGF); are on the president delegation among others.
