Buhari travels to UK on ‘brief working visit’

February 19
18:07 2015

Muhammadu Buhari, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Thursday left Abuja for the United Kingdom on a short working visit, Garba Shehu, spokesman of the APC Presidential Campaign Organisation, has disclosed.

According to Shehu, Buhari will, in the course of the visit, hold meetings with key members of the British political establishment and interact with some global institutions with stakeholder interest in the affairs of Nigeria.

“Buhari would hopefully give a talk at the prestigious foreign policy hub, the Royal Institute of International Affairs, Chatam House in London,” he said.

It is a white lie. Buhari has gone for medical checkup as his health continue to take a hit by stress occasioned by political activities. He is sick.

Since when have you ever heard of Buhari going for medical check up abroad even when he was not a presidential candidate. It was Jonathan and Patience that have been going abroad for medical treatment when Jonathan failed to develop Nigeria’s medical facilities.

I don’t know why some people should be wishing someone sickeness and even death. Even if he travelled for medicals, what’s wrong with that? Nigerians we have lost our humanity!

I am a GMB voter. But I think that it’s wrong to deceive Nigerians. GMB is not listed to speak at any events at Chatham House (www.chathamhouse.org). Oyibo plans ahead so the crap about possibly speak T an event at Chatham House is a lie arising from Col Dasuki’s speech at Chatham House.

We need change – but even our old habits of dissembling and deceiving Nigerians must also change! We are entitled to have the facts on our leaders and what they do. Else, they should elect to be private citizens and nobody will be concerned whether this is a private medical trip or a working trip!

This trip was plannd ever since, they believed that after the elections buhari was going to go for medical treatment. He has been managed for a long time. Now that the elections are postponed, they now have to disguise it as a work visit. The APC think tank are hoping he can have treatment and then go to the Chatham house

Sometimes people are dumb and s****d in their comments. Its appropriate for him to be interviewed, definitely. As for ill health, is it exclusive to Gen. Buhari? If I have nothing good to contribute, get the h*** out!

Great talk. And so will I vote for him dead or alive as long as he’s on the ballot. A vote for Jonathan is an endorsement of corruption. We don’t use our brains in this country hence why some support Jonathan still

GMB is healthier than those thinking that he is sick. But I don’t understand how that has becomes problem for other people. It is my believe that those wishing him sick or dead are either sick mentally or are suffering of GEjites bacillosis. I wont be surprise many of them will die while the man is celebrating his 100 years old. Our God is wise and knows the wickedness of a man’s heart. If man was God, many would have killed their fellow human being just for envy. up up up BUhari

After managing the man for one month, the Tinubu cabal v finally released their captive to receive medical treatment abroad. This d same man they want us to vote for. A man who spoke for abt 1 hour only in 36 rallies yet they they r telling us he will b able to rule Nigeria.
God pass dem. Foward ever, backward never.

So you don’t mind a sick President and another Yaradua fiasco? How silly can people really be all in a show of “toughness and solidarity”. Buhari’s is suffering from end stage prostrate cancer and will not rule NIGERIA now or ever again. You can take that to the bank.

I wish GMB well. He’s the preferred candidate. Some in GEJ camp said the devil (jonathan) you know is better than the angel (GMB) you don’t know. Hmn, so they take their oga as a devil? Then a devil is always a devil. and an angel is an angel. Vote out the devil from your lives

First, I don’t wish Buhari any ill, but if he’s actually sick, I wish him speedy recovery.
    Now analyses:
It’s not proper to lie to the nation about the President or anyone contesting for President. But the Level of political culture in developing countries like Nigeria sometimes demands dishonesty. But does that justify dishonesty? I think no.

My take (Please don’t crucify me): I have watched GEJ many times on national/international medial chats, and I honestly believe, our country deserves better. This’s not to talk about the allegedly corrupt people that are his Ministers and Advisers. Also not to talk about where he was supposed to be sharp, clear and straight forward On issues of national importance, GEJ most offen, prefers to dodge the question and beat about the bush. Buhari may not be the best for Nigeria, but he’s better than GEJ- and he’s the “only” alternative during this election. Besides, the Constitution Provider for the Vice President in case of president’s incapacity for any reasons. So let Buhari be!
