Buhari’s aides surprise him on 73rd birthday
The aides of President Muhammadu Buhari took him by surprise when they presented a giant card to him at the presidential villa in Abuja earlier on Thursday.
An elated president beamed with smiles as he shook hands with them. Some of the aides who felicitated with their principal on his 73rd birthday were: Femi Adesina, his special adviser on media and publicity; Garba Shehu, senior special assistant on media and publicity; Abba Kyari, chief of staff.
On this day in 2014, Buhari was the one who surprised many Nigerians by naming Yemi Osinbajo, as his running mate for the March 28 presidential election.
Buhari happens to also share the same birthday with Pope Francis, who is older than the president by six years.
This is the first birthday he would celebrate as the democratic head of the country.
Goodwill messages have been pouring in for the president.
