Buhari’s candidature ‘shortcut to victory’ for APC
An All Progressives Congress (APC) group known as APC Support Group has endorsed General Muhammadu Buhari as its candidate for the 2015 presidential election.
In a statement titled ‘APC Presidential Candidate 2015, a Case by APC Support Group’, the group described the former head of state as a “veracious personality”.
“General Muhammadu Buhari is a veracious personality, an African political icon; his capacity for mass mobilisation and influence has contributed greatly to making APC attract nationwide acceptability,” it said.
“In fact, the first quality we must consider in this contest is electoral value. Given his moral standing, GMB certainly stands tall among men, without genuflecting. His candidature is a clear shortcut to victory.
Why take a long, uncertain road to travel when one could take an optimistic shortcut, coupled with the fact that he was tested and trusted.
“To this end, it will be great indeed, as well as value addition for the APC to field GMB as its presidential candidate. Our suggestion is purely based on facts and logic and the reality on the ground.”
The group thanked Chief Bisi Akande, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, Chief Ogbonnaya Onu, John Odigi Oyegun and other stakeholders of the party for “starting this salvation party”.
It urged them to “please join us and other Nigerians by fielding this man of impeccable character and qualities as our candidate for the presidential race”, saying this is the “greatest service you can do to Nigeria at this critical time”.
Tinubu should find a meeting point for for all the major contenders. Nigeria needs Buhari now to bring us back on track from this drift. Atiku is a very good politician and Kwakwanso is quite energetic. Aftet Buhari’s 4 years, Atiku can come on board.
