Pyramids travel to Aba for the second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup last-8 tie against Enyimba on Sunday, after claiming a 4-1 win in the first leg.

The Egyptians remain the overwhelming favourites to advance to the semi-finals.

The big spenders produced a hugely impressive display in Cairo to get the job done inside 90 minutes.

In the entire history of the competition, no Egyptian team has ever won by three or more goals in the first leg of a knockout match at home and failed to progress.

The stat alone tells you the magnitude of the task ahead of the People’s Elephant who seemed to have lost their mojo in recent months.

The Aba outfit had earlier advanced through a tricky group that also contained Orlando Pirates, ES Setif, and Al Ahli Benghazi.

In the first competitive meeting between the Egyptian side and Enyimba last Sunday, however, it proved to be a nightmare for Fatai Osho as Pyramids produced a classy display to secure the win.

On the basis of the first leg and their form since then, Pyramids may just be favourites to go all the way in this year’s tournament.

Team News

Osho will be happy to have the duo of Nabil Yarou and Anayo Iwuala back for the return leg in Aba.

While Iwuala and Nabil were missed in Cairo, they should start the second leg game at the Enyimba International Stadium.

Pyramids will also field a strong lineup this weekend with Ramadan Sobhi looking certain to start.

We say: Enyimba 3-1 Pyramids

Playing at the Enyimba International Stadium will bring happy memories for Pyramids, but they face an uphill task if they are to prolong their campaign beyond this weekend. They should score one goal in Aba and progress.
