CAF CC: Enyimba beat Al-Ahli Benghazi in group A opener

Enyimba have edged Al-Alli Benghazi 2-1 to kick off their group A campaign in the 2020/21 CAF Confederation Cup.

Austin Oladapo opened scoring with a long range effort that went past the Libyan goalkeeper at the Aba stadium on Wednesday.

Abdallah Imhamed thereafter equalised for Al-Ahli Benghazi from the spot.

As the People’s Elephants continued their forage into the half of the visitors, Victor Mbaoma restored Enyimba’s lead in the 43rd minute.

With the victory, the Fatai Osho’s boys top the group with three points ahead of Orlando Pirates and ES Setif clash later in the day.

The two-time CAF Champions League winner will also travel to South Africa for their second group game against Pirates on March 17.

Sfaixen of Tunisia beat Salistas of Burkina Faso 1-0 in the other CAF Confederation Cup fixture.
