CAF CC: Rivers United to face Tanzania’s Young Africans in quarter-final

Rivers United have been drawn against Young Africans FC of Tanzania in the quarter-finals of the 2022/23 CAF Confederation Cup

The fixture was drawn in a ceremony on Wednesday evening in Cairo, Egypt.

The first leg of the encounter holds April 23 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, before United travels to Dar-es-Salam seven days later for the tie’s second leg.

The winner of the two-leg encounter would progress into the semi-final to face either South Africa’s Marumo Gallants FC or the Pyramids FC of Egypt.

The Nigerian club finished second in Group B but secured the knockout phase ticket with one game to spare.

Rivers United garnered 10 points from three consecutive wins and one draw in the group to qualify comfortably.

Meanwhile, Young Africans won their group with 13 points from four wins and one draw in six games.
