Rivers United conceded two second half goals to succumb to a 2-0 loss to Young Africans of Tanzania in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final encounter at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Sunday.

Fiston Mayele scored both goals that put the Tanzanian giants in pole position to qualify for the next phase against a tepid Rivers United side that were woeful through out the clash.

While both sides are featuring in the quarter-finals of a CAF competition for the first time in their histories, it was Young Africans who seized the occasion to put on a convincing display, with a result that gives them the advantage going into the second leg.

Coach Stanley Eguma-led Rivers United enjoyed more possession but could not hit the target despite taking aim at goal with eleven shots.
