Cameroon defeated Ghana 2-0 to move to the final of the African Cup of Nations 2017 where they will meet Egypt on Saturday.

The loss, for Ghana’s black stars, means their wait for another nations cup gold continues.

They last won the tournament in 1982.

The game started on a very fast pace as Cameroon, noted for starting slowly and being defensive, came all out to attack Ghana who were short of ideas.

Brimah Razak came off his line to intercept a freekick delivered from outside the area after a foul by Wakaso Mubarak. But the keeper got nowhere near the ball and succeeded only in distracting John Boye, who merely headed softly backwards.

Michael Ngadeu-Ngadjui took advantage, controlled the ball at the back post and manoeuvred himself into shooting position before firing into the net for Cameroon in the 71st minute.

Ghana wasted their attacking opportunities with several dreadful crosses.

And then, the momentum switched.

Aboubakar played in Christian Bassagog, who carried the ball forward into Ghana’s 30-yard area and flipped the ball past Razak to extend Cameroon’s lead in the injury time to send the Indomitable Lions into the final.
