Charles Oputa, the entertainer-cum-activist better known as Charly Boy, says President Muhammadu Buhari is an honourable man of integrity who does not know what he is doing.

The co-convener of #OurMumuDonDo campaign, which is seeking the resumption or resignation of the president, said Buhari has no intentions to stagnate Nigeria, but the people around him have running Nigeria “like their company”.

Speaking in an interview with Osasu Igbinedion on The Osasu Show, Charly Boy said he needs just 20 exceptional young Nigerians to take back the country.

“If less than 50 people can hold a whole country to ransome, then the youth should know what they are doing, because I can guarrantee that if you give me 20 exceptional young people, they can take back this country. Infact, make that 19, because I have offered myself for this,” Oputa said.

“A year ago or thereabouts, the president’s wife raised alarm that certain group of people have hijacked her husband and the office of the president. Look at what is playing out now.

“I know President Buhari, I don’t know him one-on-one. Ithink he has integrity, I don’t think he wants to be a sickly kind of president and stagnate the all of us, stagnate Nigeria. I don’t think he came to do that, but he made a mistake when he picked some certain people to surround him.”

In the same interview, Deyi Adeyanju, one of the Nigerians pursuing the resume or resign campaign, added that Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, the media and perhaps Aisha Buhari, do not know much about the ailing the president.
