The very controversial singer and songwriter, television presenter, publisher, producer of the defunct Charly Boy Show, Charles Oputa released a statement blasting his critics, including Governor Rochas of Imo State, and some “pirated Oputas”, who feel he overdid it at his late father’s burial.

The entertainer set a lot of tongues wagging during the two-day concert he arranged for the late Justice Chukwudifu Oputa.

The ceremony generated controversy as it was reported that the entertainer had disrespected Okorocha by snatching the microphone from him while he was speaking at the funeral service. Not to forget, the drama Charly Boy caused as he stepped in with ‘his angels’ during the ceremony.

Charly Boy insists he did not disrespect Governor Rochas as he is not a ‘riff-raff’ and would not have snatched a microphone from a person speaking because despite his ‘ruggedness’, he was trained by a great man.

He, however, feels the people of Oguta in Imo state do nothing but “just sit there and survive, suffering and smiling sheepishly” after six years of no electricity despite the governor’s promise to restore it.

“There is a method to my madness,” he said – as only deep thinkers would understand him. If you are one, maybe you will.
